About the "Department"

The Health Information Management team inputs, manages, protects, and analyzes health care data like electronic health records, lab results, patient contact information, medical history, and more.

The team takes pride in our processes of how we deal with this highly sensitive data.

About The Career :

This position evaluates simple and complex outpatient medical records (therapeutic outpatients, single visit diagnostic, radiology oncology services, recurring, same day surgery, and ED visits) and assigns appropriate clinical diagnoses and procedure codes in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines for the development for organization wide database and submission of accurate hospital claims.

All About You :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Coding credential or certification Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Outpatient Coding (COC), Certified Coding Associate (CCA) strongly preferred.
  • Training & Experience : Minimum of one (1) year experience as a coder in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Job Knowledge : ICD and CPT coding. Medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and drugs appropriate for treating specific disease processes.
